About the role
Join our Technology team to help build, improve and scale Upscale’s AI-powered SaaS platform for the financial services industry.
We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to take ownership of key areas of our product, working closely with Product, Design, QA and Engineering teams to turn ideas into reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll be involved across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and development through to testing, deployment and ongoing improvement.This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, making technical decisions and helping a growing engineering team deliver high-quality software.
You’ll have a high level of ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to have a direct impact on the product.The role is full-time and based in Thailand, with hybrid working.
Required skills
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong commercial experience developing applications in Python.
- Proven experience building, scaling and maintaining secure, web-based SaaS products.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, system design, RESTful APIs and asynchronous processing.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and serverless architectures, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch and IAM.
- Strong experience with DynamoDB, including data modelling, access-pattern design, indexing and performance optimisation.
- Experience designing and integrating generative AI or machine-learning capabilities into production products.
- Familiarity with large language models, AI APIs, prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation and the responsible handling of customer data.
- Strong understanding of databases, data structures and scalable data-processing workflows.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, automated testing, observability and modern cloud deployment practices.
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical and performance issues.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and make sound technical decisions.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with product, design and other cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to building secure, reliable and high-quality products.
